Canada, Australia partner on over-the-horizon radar technology

DSTO (Defence Science and Technology Group) research supports enhancements to the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN), which provides 24 hour surveillance of Australia’s northern approaches, monitoring air and sea movements by using over-the-horizon technology.

The Government of Canada, with new Prime Minister Mark Carney, announced Tuesday (March 18) that it will work with Australia to create over-the-horizon radar technology designed to perform surveillance of areas in an around Canada’s north.
